Why isn't my system working?


Answer

1) Does your SC546A Remote Chime make a sound when you plug it into an outlet?

  • YES: Go to step 2
  • NO: Please email support@x10.com; your chime is defective.


2)What type of controller are you using to trigger the chime?

  • Motion Sensor: Go to step 3
  • Remote: Go to step 3
  • Plugin Controller: Go to step 7
  • Security System: The remote chime cannot be triggered by your security system - you'll need a PH508 or SH10A PowerHorn Siren.



3) Do you have a transceiver?

  • YES + Motion Sensor: Go to step 4
  • YES + Remote: Go to step 5
  • NO: Please see this article.



4) When you press HOUSE/ON and UNIT/OFF on your motion sensor, can you hear your transceiver CLICK?

  • YES: Go to step 8
  • NO: Go to step 6


5) When you press House Code "1" ON/OFF on your remote, can you hear your transceiver CLICK?

  • YES: Go to step 8

6) Is your chime set to the same House Code as your Transceiver and Controller?
