Questions

How is time kept on the computer interface? Will it lose time if it isn't connected to the PC?

How does ActiveHome Pro know when Daylight Saving Time is?

Answer

Since there are enough places in the US that do not use Daylight Saving Time, AHP copies the time, date, and Daylight Saving Time settings from your computer. ActiveHome Pro is designed to keep time when running by itself; this should work for version 3.236 but not for earlier versions. Go into Help-About to see what version of ActiveHome Pro you are running.

If you have Windows Update turned on and keep the CM15A connected all the time, that should keep your Daylight Saving Time information in sync with whatever changes are made. If you are running the interface away from the PC, you`ll want to reconnect it and redownload your timers and macros if the dates for Daylight Savings Time change in your area. If you have any questions about this please email ahpsupport@x10.com.

Also, there is a bug in the CM15A that causes the unit to become off by 1 hour on the second Sunday of December. This occurrance has happened in 2006, 2007 and 2008. Be prepared to reconnect the CM15A to your computer on this day each year as a bandaid fix.
