Questions
I want Xray Vision to detect motion, and save a .jpg on my hard drive. I do not want to use the Internet. How do I set this up?
Answer
Try setting up XRay Vision for motion detection with one camera first. The software is always comparing images, looking for changes from one to the next.
- Open the program and right-click on the XRay Vision screen, choosing "Settings," and then "Preferences."
- Put a check mark in "Save Picture Every" box. Set this to 10 seconds.
- Assign the "Number of Images in the Database" to 10. This will keep the program's log of images small, and as close to real-time as possible.
Also make sure that "Mark Motion" is not checked. "Mark Motion" covers the areas where motion is detected with white squares to indicate that a change has taken place. If you do not want to see the white squares, make sure the box is not selected. Now press "OK."
- Right-click on XRay Vision again, and go to "Settings," "Internet and Dial Up Settings," and "Export HTML." Choose to export "Local" to a directory on your computer such as C:/security or C:/XRV. Choose the directory that you create for the images.
- Create a prefix for the file that stores your XRay Vision images. You can name it whatever you want, because it just keeps the camera images separate from the other pictures on your computer. Press "OK."
- Rright-click on XRay Vision again and choose "Settings," "Server Events," and "Export HTML." Place a check-mark in the box "When Detecting Motion." Press "OK."
Leave Xray Vision running, minimized if needed, on your computer. When you want to see the images, go to the directory you created, and browse through the images.
