Question
My DS7000 alarm system will sound the alarm, but it does not dial out. What can I do?
Answer
- Verify that there is a dial tone is on the security phone line. If there is a handset on the console, pick it up and listen for a dial tone. If no handset, try unplugging the console from the phone jack, plug a regular phone into the jack and check for dial tone.
- Trigger the dialer then pick up an extension phone five seconds later. You should hear the console dialing out. Wait one full minute- some cellphones take a while to pick up. You may hear the message start playing; do not fret, it will repeat.
