Question

Internet Explorer won't allow me to install Active X controls for my AirSight IP cameras

Answer

Internet Explorer should prompt you to install Active X controls the first time you visit Your camera's Web User Interface (WUI). If it doesn't, follow these steps:

  1. Open the camera's WUI in Internet Explorer
  2. Click “Tools” in the menu bar ITTOOLS.png
  3. Click “Internet Options”
  4. Click the “Security” tab
  5. Click “Trusted Sites” under the “Select a zone to view or change security settings”
  6. Move the "Security level for this zone slider" down to LOW, then click APPLY
  7. Click the “Sites” button TrustedSite2.jpg
  8. Click the “Add” button
  9. Uncheck the box for “Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone” TrustedSite.png
  10. Click the “Close” button, then the “OK” button
  11. Go back to "Internet Options" and click "Custom Level" IECustom.png
  12. Scroll down until you see "Download Unsigned ActiveX Controls" and under it select "Prompt" IEPrompt.png
  13. Click "OK". A warning message will appear, click "Yes" IEWarn.png
  14. Click "OK" again
  15. Refresh the browser

You should now be prompted to install the ActiveX control from X10.
