Question

How do I configure my non-X10 universal remote to work with the IR543?

Answer

Some universal remotes, like the Philips Pronto, can download preprogrammed X10 control files for control of a full 16 modules. Also, you should thoroughly check your owner's manual for preprogrammed codes- you may see X10 listed under the AUX section. Third, owners of other learning remotes may wish to purchase one of our remote controls to capture the IR codes. Note that most X10 universal remotes must be specially configured to send IR X10 commands instead of radio X10 commands. The procedure for setting the remotes to send IR is outlined in each remote's manual
