Why ain't it workin' right?
Answer
If you have problems answering these questions, please refer to this document.
1) Have you installed your FloodCam?
- YES: Go to step 2.
- NO: Please read FloodCam Installation.
2) Does your FloodCam problem involve the behavior of the lights/motion sensor, or is it an issue with the camera picture?
- LIGHTS: Go to step 3.
- CAMERA: Go to step 8.
- CLEARLY NOT EITHER: Go to step 15.
3) When the FloodCam is initially connected to power, are the lights on immediately?
- YES: Please call 800-442-5138. Your FloodCam may have an issue.
- NO: Go to step 4.
4) Is the FloodCam not turning off when it is turned on by motion?
- YES: Go to step 5.
- NO: Go to step 7.
5) Turn the FLOODLIGHT CONTROL all the way counterclockwise; turn the TIME DELAY all the way clockwise. If you trip the FloodCam's sensor, do the lights come on?
- YES: Go to step 6.
- NO/"the dials just keep spinning": Please call 800-442-5138. Your FloodCam may have an issue.
6) OK, now cover the sensor completely with a cloth. Do the lights go off eventually?
- YES: Floodlights Don't Turn_Off ; see last paragraph; email techpriority@x10.com otherwise.
- NO: Please call 800-442-5138. Your FloodCam may have an issue.
7) Do you have an X10 remote control, computer module, or plug-in controller? Does the FloodCam respond correctly to it?

8) Is your Video Receiver connected to a PC or a TV?
- PC: Go to step 50.
- TV: Go to step 9.
9) Do you see a picture from your camera on your TV when you turn the Video Receiver on?
- NO: Review this article then go to step 4.
- SORT OF: Go to step 10.
- YES: Go to step 11.
10) Do you have more than one X10 camera set to the same A-D transmission channel as the FloodCam and connected to power?

12) Can you switch between cameras using an X10 remote control?
- YES: Go to step 16.

13) How far is the FloodCam from the Video Receiver? What is between the cam and receiver?
- LESS THAN 40 FEET/ WOOD AND SHEETROCK, ETC: Troubleshooting Floodcam Picture on TV
- OVER 40 FEET/ METAL OR CONCRETE OR CERAMIC: Camera Range Extending Wireless Camera Range
14) Do you have access to a TV?
- YES: Let's test things on the TV first. Please connect the Video Receiver to your TV and set it to the appropriate channel. Go to step 7.
- NO: Please read Troubleshooting Video Display Errors on PC.
15) Let me clear up some common questions. The FloodCam needs 110V AC wall power, including a neutral wire, to work; it does not have a microphone or broadcast audio; it is not a night-vision camera, but is dependent on its attached floodlights to produce a picture in low light.
